Green Hills, TN

I like going to the dentist for cleanings...but nothing else. Dr. Kirby and his entire team did a phenomenal job of making me feel comfortable, and easing my anxiety over a procedure I had to have done. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.”

Frequently Asked Questions

We want our patients to feel as well informed as possible about their oral health, so you shouldn’t hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions. We’ll be happy to talk to you about anything that’s on your mind!

However, we also understand that you might want to do your own research before talking to us. To that end, here are answers to some of the most common questions we tend to get from our patients so that you can comfortably commit to getting the care you need!

How do I get Emergency Dental Care?

When dealing with a dental emergency, like a lost tooth or broken restoration, your first move should be to give us a call. We’ll schedule you for a same-day appointment so that we can deal with your issue as quickly as possible. If disaster strikes after our normal office hours, you should still call and leave us a detailed message with your name and number—we check our messages each morning and will get back to you ASAP.

The only exception is if your dental emergency is life-threatening, like if your breathing is impaired or you’ve been severely injured. In these and similar cases, it’s a good idea to head to the emergency room. Though they lack the tools to deal with complex dental issues effectively, they will usually be able to stabilize your condition until you can see us.

How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Dental Work Done?

Finding the perfect dentist for you involves weighing several factors. First of all, what kind of practice are you looking for? If you want cosmetic dentistry, for example, you may want to find a dentist with unique specializations in that field. The same goes for root canals, braces, or any other treatment that you may want. Then there are other logistical concerns, like the location of the dentist, their hours, and whether they accept your insurance.

In addition to checking online, you might want to schedule consultations with several different practices. This will give you the opportunity to talk to your prospective dentist in person, ask questions, and get a sense of whether they’ll be the right person for your smile.

How Much Does a Dental Check-up & Cleaning Cost in Nashville?

Dental checkups and cleanings can vary in price depending on the dentist you’re seeing, as well as where in the city they’re located. A basic checkup and cleaning will cost anywhere between $100-200 dollars without insurance. Once a year, you’ll also need X-rays to check for potential problems under the surface of your smile. Without insurance, these will usually add another $100-200 dollars to the cost of treatment. Notably, many insurance companies offer two preventive appointments each year at no out-of-pocket cost, so it’s often worth checking with your dental plan to make sure you’re getting the most from your benefits.

If you’re currently uninsured, you’ll be happy to learn we’re offering a new patient special, affording you a detailed exam, cleaning, and all necessary X-rays for only $199!

How Many Dentists are in Nashville?

There are over 200 general dentistry practices in Davidson County, which means that Nashvillians have no shortage of options in terms of dental care. However, it also means that if you’re trying to get high-quality oral healthcare, you could easily find yourself running all over the city trying to get all of your dental needs met.

That’s why at Green Hills Dental Center we aim to be your one-stop-shop for all your dental needs. No matter your age or what problem you’re dealing with, our breadth of expertise means that we’ll likely be able to help you improve your smile without having to go anywhere else.
