Dr. Prather is a native of Cincinnati, OH, where she grew up the oldest of six children. She completed her undergraduate studies at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, and earned her doctor of dental surgery from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry. Dr. Prather is dedicated to building lasting relationships with patients, and she’s passionate about helping nervous patients overcome their fears.
Since completing her doctoral studies, Dr. Prather has continued her education in advanced treatment methods and procedures including training in IV sedation, dental implants, Invisalign orthodontics, Six Month Smiles, the Chao Pinhole gum surgery technique, Lumineers, and advanced CEREC certification. Her father is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Ohio and she maintains her license there to continue training under him to expand her surgical knowledge and skills.
A respected member of the dental field, Dr. Prather has been a member of the American Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Outside the office, Dr. Prather is happily married to Matthew Tanksley. They have one son, Jaxson, a dog named Lexi, and they are expecting their second son, Samson, in the summer of 2016. When she has a chance, Dr. Prather enjoys running, rollerblading, American sports cars, riding Harleys, and trying new wines.
